The Original Bowling Company is an entertainment and leisure business offering ten pin bowling experiences UK wide. Its brands include Hollywood Bowl, AMF and Bowlplex.
Oakland Air Control has supplied M&E building services based planned preventive and reactive maintenance to Hollywood Bowl, AMF and Bowlplex for several years. Our relationship started in 2001 when we successfully secured a planned preventive maintenance contract with Hollywood Bowl covering as many as 50 sites. This was then augmented by the further addition of Bowlplex and AMF sites since.
Today, the three well know brands of Hollywood Bowl, AMF and Bowlplex have been acquired by The Original Bowling Company.
Ten-pin bowling centres are open plan areas dedicated to public entertainment. The facilities attract families, young people and adult groups and are open all day and into the night. The bowling activities at each site are complemented by food outlets, bars, cafes and slot machines.
The centres are quite often light in construction and because of this and the wide swings in occupancy levels the HVAC, lighting and other engineering services have to respond to the changing loads and demands of the environment.
Since 2001 we have held ongoing planned preventive maintenance contracts for the HVAC systems and controls within the bowling centres. In addition there have been a number of new air conditioning equipment installations, boiler and AHU upgrades. We have also upgraded the Trend Controls to facilitate remote access which has resulted in ongoing energy savings.
